Mina - Jamrah

What do you do in Mina? There are 3 wajib haji that you'll do while staying in Mina for four days. Before that, here are the wajib haji
  1. Niat ihram di miqat (you do this while in the plane unless you're from Madinah)
  2. Meninggalkan perkara larangan dalam ihram (there are 13 of them and you must not break any of them or else you'll have to pay dam)
  3. Mabit di Muzdalifah (spend the night in Muzdalifah)
  4. Melontar Jamratul Aqabah
  5. Mabit di Mina
  6. Melontar ketiga-tiga jamrah (Ula, Wusta & Aqabah) pada ketiga-tiga hari Tasyriq
So, you'll be doing number 4, 5 and 6 while in Mina. On the way to Mina, you'll be doing number 3. You already done number 1 when you wear your ihram and niat. Number 2 is on going as long as you're still in ihram (and wearing your ihram clothes).

When we left Arafah on the eve of 10th Zulhijjah, we're supposed to go to Muzdalifah but somehow Tabung Haji changed plan for this time around, we went straight to Mina Muhassir (which is actually the border between Mina and Muzdalifah). Then, on the same night we walked to the Jamrat area and did the throwing for Jamratul Aqabah (no. 5 of the wajib haji).

Once you have thrown for Jamratul Aqabah, you have the option to perform the rukun haji - Bercukur (cut at least 3 strains of your hair). After you did both, you can lose the ihram clothes and be freed from 10 of the restrictions in ihram. You'll be freed from all of those restrictions once you did your Tawaf and Saie, throwing at Jamratul Aqabah and Bercukur.

So, that night, after I did the throwing, proceeded to the nearest barber to shave my head clean and after that I can wear normal clothes again. On the way back to our tent in Mina Muhassir (which was 7km away from the Jamrat area), we'll be passing by Muzdalifah area, so while walking back we did our wajib haji number 3.

The next three days; 10th, 11th and 12th Zulhijjah were spent in our tent area. Then, early morning of 13th Zulhijjah around 3AM, we went back to the Jamrat area and did the throwing for 11th and 12th Zulhijjah. After Subuh, we did the last throwing (13th Zulhijjah) and thus finished our throwing ibadah. Alhamdulillah.

Jamratul Ula - the first Jamarat, 7 stones thrown for each Tasyriq Day; 11th, 12th and 13th Zulhijjah

Jamratul Wusta - the middle Jamarat, 7 stones thrown for each Tasyriq Day; 11th, 12th and 13th Zulhijjah

Jamratul Aqabah - the last Jamarat, 7 stones thrown on 10th Zulhijjah followed by 7 stones thrown for each Tasyriq Day; 11th, 12th and 13th Zulhijjah

The Jamrah Bridge. If you're doing the throwing during the day, you can choose to throw from the top floor or the ground floor. On the 10th, 11th and 12th Zulhijjah, this area during the day and night is full with those tents.

Happy Birthday Along!

To my Sis,
On her birthday far away:
Maybe life will separate us,
Yet we'll always be best friends.
So may love, until life ends,
In joy or sorrow not forsake us,
Sunshine on the darkest day.
Though there's a frequency I miss,
Each breath of peace that fortune sends
Recalls a bond time can't betray
